Welcome to Birdies and Bluebear's!
We are
Glad you could join us.
We hope you enjoy looking at our (Bluebear and Birdies) website. Bluebear is a 20 year old female and Birdie is her 43 year old mother.
We both enjoy camping, walking and making crafts. Bluebear loves writing stories and hanging out with friends while Birdie likes to paint watercolors, make stained glass suncatchers and enjoys fishing.
We both love animals. Birdie's pets consist of a goldfish, a turtle named Venus, and a budgie called Angel, a flock of 14 laying hens and the newest member, Herbie the rat. Bluebear has a budgie named Gopher, a hamster named Sam and 2 gerbils. And Birdie's newest family member, Willie.
If you have any questions or comments we'd love to hear from you.
Below are some poems or stories, most written by Bluebear... enjoy!
HUG A TREEIt's important for our children to know what to do when lost in the woods.
These are 4 simple steps to teach your children
1) Hug a tree
When you find that you are lost, find a tree and hug it. Stay by the tree you have picked
2)Zip up
Zipper up your jacket, tie your hood, tuck in your t-shirt, tuck your pants into your socks. This will keep you warm.
3)Find Shelter
Find a small place you can sleep if necessary. If there's a tree fallen down nearby, place branches over it if you can to make a shelter. Or make a bed of brush on the ground. Place the branches, light side up, to let the moisture run off.
4)Be Found
Stay near a clearing if possible so a helicopter can see you if it flies overhead. Or leave a bright colored cloth in the clearing to be seen. But don't take off any clothing that can be used to keep you warm.
